Iron is most prominently found in hemoglobin, the molecule in red blood cells that transports oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. Without iron, oxygen can’t move as efficiently through your body, leading to fatigue and decreased immune function.* Iron is also necessary to maintain healthy skin, hair, and nails.* Typical iron supplements, which are often poorly absorbed, have been shown to cause gastrointestinal issues.
An iron deficiency can manifest as weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath on exertion, dizziness, tinnitus, headaches, drowsiness, irritability, impaired concentration, and loss of libido.*
To ensure proper absorption and prevent gastrointestinal issues, our supplement provides 25 milligrams of elemental iron bound to glycine.* When iron is bound to glycine it’s able to travel unchanged through the stomach to the small intestine for absorption, thus limiting or minimizing gastrointestinal distress.*
